Brain was being a little crybaby in the PvP.

You agreed to the lack of rules, just shut up and play and take your loss/win.

Byul didn't complain in his 2.5 hour game with Hydra. AND Hydra had bottom mid, while Byul had top left.

I dont get all the flak sent hydras way. It's part of the game to get shit mid position and everyone knew that including Brain. Only reason everyone was pissed off at Hydra was cause people refuse to accept Brain was about to take an L from poor positioning. Brain knew he was in trouble, everyone did actually thats why they were demanding a remake. Yes those games are boring, but it's what the m/u turned out to be. Honestly, under the same circumstance, I wouldnt have remade either because, I know that spot is straight up ass and it only takes time before you take that main and break the entrance, squeeze into the base and win. Koreans didn't want to see Brain lose by an american player, its an ego thing not a time thing, that was the biggest issue and why everyone turned on Hydra. I bet if the tables were turned no one would have complained at Brain they probably would have laughed at Hydra for even making the suggestion to remake if we're being honest.
in high level pvp mid base usually wins over corner even with spot disadvantage. midbase can take map more easily then just expo for minerals and have an advantage in dropping

What you smoking bro lol.

said high level not puma level

Anyone with common sense understands why corner spot has an advantage over mid spot, If you can't see that then idk what to tell you... Feel like even if i sat and and explained to you why corners have an advantage over mid spots you would double down like a dimwit. If theres one thing ive learned in life its that you can't argue with stupid people. Quite literally the first thing players think when a game begins is what spot and race did i get. Did i get shit race? It's okay because at least I got a corner spot. Everyone who is average at this game goes through the thinking process.

For the record I can probably shit on you after not touching a 1v1 game in years. It's comical to me when some of you players think you're good cause most of the competition/good players quit. Everyone who is top ranks now have always been top ranks. It's not that some of you got better(maybe did get somewhat better), its that the good players quit trying to get good at this game or playing it all together. Theres a different mind set between players who have always been good and players who were average, those players aren't mentally at the same level, thats the brutal truth.

Wish I can say I cared to get good at this game, I don't. I reached my peak, literally toyed with a lot of top players, smurfed a lot of them too, and theres very few players who can claim they've beat me in a 1v1. I can probably name the ones who beat me and still stay within the single digits. Saik, Day, Jake, Marine, Knives, Some other guy who i cant recall his name accurately maybe b4sh i think was his name or beast? I know Hydra would have taken games off me I just never played him because at the time he was tagged as a hacker which I avoided like a plague but I can sit here and admit that I'm sure he would have taken games off me. I guess my point is, I know how advantagous having a corner spot is, but even if you don't play the game THAT competitively, you'll eventually realize why theres an advantage to corner spots. Also if anyone else here can honestly claim they have beat me in 1v1, please post it cause I can promise you there aren't many players who did during the peak activity and competition of starcraft.

I think folks misunderstood my comment.
I got Hydra rated pretty high on my list. Hydra has the skill to put on a proactive exciting game, but decided to play it lame and boring by just turtling for almost the entire game. Most of his attacks were spot abuse with sometimes a not controlled attack move on Brain's choke. Hydra is better than what he showed in that PvP. He played it lame and boring. He is better than that in terms of skill. I was disappointed that he decided not to show it. Because he finally got a chance to show off against the best of all time in front of a large audience and didn't take it.

As a matter of personal opinion, I will have to defend HyDrA and wholeheartedly disagree with this line of thinking. When the game becomes about entertaining the audience and not about doing whatever you think is best in order to attain victory, we've strayed away from what the game is supposed to be and that's a huge problem. I don't imagine that pleasing Brain's viewership was on the top of HyDrA's list of priorities. Imagine being told not only to worry just about your opponent's possible moves to get ahead or to take over the game, but whether or not you are entertaining their audience quite enough - its all ridiculous. I like to say that observers have no rights, which includes the lack of right to be entertained. And this doesn't change regardless of whether there's five observers or five hundred. Some games are exciting to watch, some are boring - if you can't handle the occasional boring turtle game, then maybe you're observing the wrong game.

I talked with hydra about it. He agreed he played way too defensive and passive after watching the replay. You do raise a fair point. Does not make it less lame.

Perfectly said. That is just part of the fastest world. Unfortunately for the viewers we got a mirror match, they're usually boring as hell which is why players often will just agree to a remake at the start of the game.

I didn't get to see any of the BM, but I respect Brain for being the best 1v1 fast map player to ever exist.

I respect Hydra for being the best 1v1 fast map NA player to ever exist.

I understand the differences between KRN and Foreign FMP culture of play. I understand they don't mass cannons on principle and their map is more balanced.

But I also don't care. Game was played on our map inside our cultural sphere of the game.

So, IMO, cry more Brain (even though you the GOAT).

Side notes:
Nobody has ever beaten Brain's P, and Hydra did it. That's pretty fucking cool. Spot advantage or not, there's not another foreign player that's going to do that.
Nobody has lasted as long as Z vs Brain ever on our map, and Hydra did it. And the first ZvT was actually pretty competitive.

This is literally Brain's full time job, and he's the best to ever do it. The fact that Hydra won once, and had at least one other competitive game is pretty awesome.
