Why does SCW still use a garbage map?

It has been quite a long time since this possibly one of the worst fastest map has been used for the ladder. Why use this inferior map over a better refined balanced map?

Korea map should have been the main map many many years ago. It's 20 bazillion times better and the reason I personally stopped scwing.

This is SCW not korean league... no1 cares about korean map... probabbly if sword will change the map...50% of players will not play anymore... so stop trying to change it...just play for fun with us!

Maybe you try to use the logic you are demanding. If there is a choice and people do not play the korean map, maybe it is because they dont like it and want to play the western map?

Stop referring that as a western map, use the term inferior map. I am assuming people who play this map want to keep this way so they can avoid playing with superior players, however that will not help the league as only bad players will be playing in it with no new players joining.

Why would I use your self invented term? Everyone on battle.net uses Western Map or UGL Map or something like that. Also I do not think it is inferior. I like the gas setup more since it allows better sim city.

Again you can play the korean map in SCW, no one is hindering you from doing so. But I guess you are just a troll lol

If you are such an superior player to everyone that plays the western map, you should easily be able to defeat every "inferior" player even on the western map. But seems like you do not want to? kek

On average humans don't like change, even if the change is from something worse to something better. From a competitive point of view, the western map does not uphold notions of competitive integrity, balance, and fairness.

The map has many imbalances that all affect one's chance to win dramatically. Middle spawn spot abuse, base sizes, choke sizes, gas blockage to name a few that are seriously imbalanced.

On he other hand though, It also has two advantages over the korean map. You can use all 10 gas on a single main. You have space on the sides, not walls, so there's by default more vision which makes it easier to spot drops, and gives anti-air more range to fire from at air.

Dodging storms though is harder. There's a smaller space and less options to drop dodge to. Korean map has gas distributed over a larger area, more different paths and options to send workers to.

Overall, Korean map is without a doubt more balanced and better suited for serious competition that isn't often times decided by map imbalances.

But getting humans who have been using the same one thing for over a decade to start using another thing? Psychology just doesn't work well there.

Gotta agree with premier. I'd love to switch to the korean map but I'm just too lazy to even think about adjusting building placements.
